In this lesson well be going over one way to play a minor arpeggio and how to apply it to soloing. The key we will be in is E minor and playing an E minor arpeggio.
Figure 1 shows the tablature and fingering on the arpeggio we will be using.
The notes in this arpeggio are the same as in an E minor chord. They are in order of: E, G, B then one higher octave up E, G, B. Practice this many times over till you get it smooth.
Now that we learned the fingering, how do we apply this to improvising to a song?
For this example well take a Jam tune that consists of the chords Em and C, which makes it in the key of E minor.
Try playing the E minor arpeggio over this rhythm.
